Dear Students and Parents,
Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year at Rabat American School.
Each new school year brings with it the promise of new things to learn and new friends to meet. Nowhere is this more true than in an international school like RAS. At the beginning of each year we welcome new members to our community, and at the end of each year we say farewell to some of the friends we have made. This constant turnover results in a dynamic learning environment and an ever-changing blend of cultures and perspectives. As a result, RAS is a stimulating place to learn and grow.
The philosophy of the RAS Secondary School has its foundations in the
liberal arts approach to education, which offers students the
opportunity to explore and learn in all of the academic disciplines. We
believe that our students thrive in an atmosphere of openness,
participation and inquiry. Our success depends on our commitment to
high standards of academic achievement, integrity and personal
well-being. We seek to educate the whole child and encourage
participation in co-curricular activities such as team and individual
sports and the visual and performing arts. Our students learn
responsible citizenship through active participation in the governance
of the school and through engagement in purposeful community service.
I believe you will find RAS to be a high quality, caring educational
