Facilities

Dar Essalam Horse riding stables, consists of 30 hectors of land and a large show ring. It is approximately 15 minutes drive from the town centre. The stables are right next to a large forest in which you can go riding.
The facilities have two main indoor blocks of stables, which each hold approximately 30 to 40 horses. In all the riding stable has around 150 horses. One stable is for the club horses and the other is for owned horses that are boarding at the stables.
There are four different rings at Dar Essalam. Two are regular flatwork, one for riding and one for federation horses. These are horses owned by the royal family and are used for professional competitions, polo and fantasia. Fantasia is the traditional Arab riding, where men in Moroccan dress with shotguns and ride horses. The club organises these events and they are worthwhile to watch.
The club has a small café and comfortable seating area. The café serves many simple drinks such as sodas, hot coffee and tea, and is perfect for parents waiting for their children to finish a lesson. The café also has a pool table and TV so kids can stay amused until their lesson starts.
Dar Esalam also has a golf course, which is the best in Morocco.

Rentals

You can rent a horse for a month at a time or just pay for the lessons. When you rent a horse you can ride him whenever you want. You can also share a rented horse, in which you can have access to the horse on a shared timetable with another person.
Also if you have your own horse you can make arrangements to have your horse stabled there for 1500 dhs a month.

Lessons

The membership fee to the club is 2000 dhs for adults and 1500 dhs for children under 18.
After the initial membership fee, lessons cost 500 dhs for 8 lessons, or 80 dhs per lesson. However even if you are not a member you can still buy lessons. These are 200 dhs per lesson to go out into the woods, or 120 dhs for a lesson in the ring.
The best instructor is Jerome, as he speaks a little English while the others only speak French and Arabic.
The lessons vary depending on your level. You may prefer to attend group or single lessons. Beginners will begin with the more basic riding techniques and people who have ridden before will take a test to see in which level they should be placed.
During the hot summer months the prices and times of lessons may fluctuate. Lessons will most likely be given in the early morning or late afternoon.

Directions

Dar Essalam is very easy to locate. Route de Zaer (the road of Mega Mall) is a very long road. Once you pass Mega Mall you need to drive for approximately 10 minutes until you reach a large sign pointing right towards the golf course. Turn down this road and drive straight for another 5 minutes past the golf course. Eventually you will reach a large sign reading Dar Essalam Club Equestrians.
